Bee Spears
Bee Spears, longtime friend of STMA founder Mark Dreyer, passed away Thursday December 8, 2011. "If it weren't for Bee I probably wouldn't have moved to Nashville over 20 years ago", he was a true friend and collaborator of mine for years. We had worked on various projects together and he will really be missed.
Longtime bassist for Willie Nelson & Family band Bee Spears is a highly sought-after musician in both Nashville and his native Texas. A member of Willie Nelson's touring and recording band for over forty years, he has played on countless recordings by other legendary artists including Waylon Jennings, Guy Clark, and Jerry Jeff Walker. Bee's songwriting and arranging skills and 'studio tan' have made hm a natural in the producer's chair as well. Dave Gibson
Dave Gibson is the President, Chief Creative Officer, and co-founder of Savannah Music Group. As lead singer for Sony recording artists The Gibson-Miller Band, recipients of the 1993 Academy Of Country Music's Top New Group award, Dave continued to hone his songwriting skills, resulting in six Billboard number one songs, twelve top-five songs, and fifteen songs that have charted in the top-40. Dave's accomplishments include over forty album cuts for some of the biggest names in the business, including Alabama, Reba McEntire, Montgomery-Gentry, Conway Twitty, Joe Diffie, Tanya Tucker, ...and many more. Mickey Raphael
Long time harmonica player for Willie Nelson & Family band
A native of Texas, Mickey Raphael grew up around the rich music scene of Dallas. As a teenager he got a little impromptu coaching from legendary blues harmonica player Don Brooks, and, as he says, "just jumped about 20 steps from the little I already knew about the harp." After many more hours onstage, a chance meeting with Willie Nelson led to an invitation to sit in on a local gig, which eventually led to permanent membership in Willie's band. Over the last 30-plus years, Mickey has performed on hundreds of sessions with Willie, Kenny Chesney, Vince Gill. Ringo Starr, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Asleep at the Wheel, Merle Haggard, Elton John, Blue Öyster Cult, and many more. Carl Tuttle
Carl Tuttle is one of the seminal figures in the development of contemporary worship. His music has been played in tens of thousands of churches all over the world, and can be directly linked to one of the largest music movements in Christendom. In 1976 Carl began leading a small group in song which grew to become one of the largest church organizations in the world known as “The Vineyard Church, pastored originally by the great church leaders John Wimber. Carl’s song credits are numerous with hits such as “The Lord God Reigns”, “I Worship You”, “Oh Lord”, “Alleluia” and the great worship hit “Hosanna”. Carl has had incredible impact in shaping worship music in countries all over the world and the footprint of God’s work in him will always be with us. Carl is a STMA board member and personal liaison to the Christian music community for the organization. Kirk Eberhard is a journeyman musician and producer in the thriving Nashville music scene. Since arriving in 1988 he has worked with many charting music artists and groups and has built lasting relationships in the music business community. Bob moved to Nashville in 1980, where he landed a job with Warner Bros. Records as National Promotion Director. Throughout the decade he increased market share and created the first ever International Department for a major record label in Nashville, achieving two Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, an Academy of Country Music (ACM) Award, and a Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award in the process.
